This presentation represents what we learned this semester in our foundation seminar for the Arts Residential College. We have focused on topical issues in relation to music and the arts. Through the use of songs and their impactful lyrics, artists are able to address issues promoting change and awareness.

Our mixtape ventures into political movements being influenced by music. The analysis addresses specific songs’ successes in achieving a political agenda alongside the social credibility of the artist themselves. This selection will leave a detailed history of musicians starting worldwide political conversations in order to confront and combat social issues.
