How the Concentration of Plastics in Ocean and Freshwater Systems Impacts Access to Clean Water

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
The purpose of this project is to understand the relationship between the concentration of plastics in both ocean and freshwater systems and providing access to clean water. As the concentration of plastics increases and ever more plastics continue to contaminate our waters, developing solutions to the problem of producing clean water has become a global challenge. There are a number of potential solutions that have been developed in the past or are currently under development, such as the fundamental rules of recycling, building technologically advanced machines, educating the future generations, etc. These approaches however have not achieved the desired level of effectiveness, and continuing research is necessary.  The results of this project give insights into potential directions for future research.
