Analytics is taking over the world of sports, including football. Teams on the professional and collegiate level are relying more and more upon statistics to give them a competitive advantage over their opponents. Our task in helping the Bucknell football team was to analyze four different areas: possession and ten efficiency, first down efficiency, third and fourth down conversion efficiency, and red zone efficiency. Not only did we analyze data for all of the games this season, but we attended practice to record important data on our own. We will share the results of our analyses and our recommendations to the coaches, which influenced their play calling in the final games of the season.
