For many people  worldwide, soccer is their religion and the air they breathe, a pulsating  life force that explodes every time the ball hits the back of the net.  Vuvuzelas buzz and crowds roar, yet soccer in different cultures worldwide is  synonymous with toxic masculinity, excluding female and LGBTQ players from  the limelight. By analyzing stories in "Futbol, La Novela  Grafica" by Santiago Garcia and Pablo Rios alongside current events,  I will try to shed light on how the sport beloved by billions excludes the  non-masculine from sharing in its glory, and how it can be used to spark  progress.
