This research examines the viability of a universal basic income system as a solution to the looming job crisis from the AI revolution. As increasingly intelligent AI obsoletes a wider range of skills, those that are forced into unemployment will no longer have any marketable assets, creating vast unemployment. Universal basic income bridges this gap by allowing those that are unemployed to reeducate themselves to eventually reenter the job market while simultaneously affording basic needs; something that would be very difficult under the current capitalistic system.
